Why I Don’t Buy Handbags Anymore

28.08.2025

The world is full of handbags. I bought dozens — some cheap, some expensive, some labeled "vegan" made of plastic pretending to be leather. But none of them felt right. Either the material was off, the shape was awkward, or they simply lacked what I needed most: purpose.

So I stopped looking. If the handbag I wanted didn't exist, I'd make it myself.

My first design was simple — a red bag with a splash of turquoise. Perfect fit to my shoes  I'd made earlier. I am the Red Andy after all.. I wore it every day. Then came "the camel" — crafted from leftover yellow leather, shaped naturally to hug the body. What was I searching most? Glasses. So I designed a special pocket on the top of the bag for glasses. OMG, the water bottle is always somewhere down and searching keys every day drives me crazy. How my final design looked like? A glasses pocket on the top, a loop for a water bottle, key ring inside the bag and an inner clip with a detachable mini pouch I take on flights. Every detail is intentional. Every feature has a reason.

My handbags are leather, functional, and built to last forever. They're hand-stitched, no machines involved. Every stitch takes time. Every pocket has a story. And I wouldn't trade them for anything else. I don't want compromise. I want a bag that feels like me — a little wild, practical, colorful, and above all, free.
